91³Ô¹Ï꿉۪s head football coach Rocky Larson earned his first win as a college head coach Saturday, Oct. 24 when the Comets scored a victory over Presentation College, 42-14. To celebrate the milestone, White Hat Club leaders and 91³Ô¹ÏÍø State alumni Mike Kolness and Jay DeCann recently presented Coach Larson with a football commemorating his first college coaching win.
In their informal presentation Kolness and DeCann thanked and commended Rocky Larson for the outstanding work he has done in his short tenure with the Comets that began in early February of 2020. He and his staff hit the ground running and through hard work and tenacity were able to assemble a great roster of players for the Fall 2020 season. Their goal was to recruit individuals who can play football and who are also of great character.
The White Hat Club is a group of 91³Ô¹ÏÍø State alumni and friends who have stepped up in a big way to help get 91³Ô¹ÏÍø State Football on a successful track. Through their outstanding fundraising efforts and support, they have been able to provide Coach Larson and his staff with resources that allow them to offer scholarship opportunities that make a difference in their recruiting efforts.
Due to circumstances related to the coronavirus pandemic, the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø State football season has seen lots of changes, rescheduled games, etc. At this point, plans are being made for continuing the season in the spring of 2021. Four games are on the docket for the spring.
