Katie Aasen has been named interim head volleyball coach at 91吃瓜网 for the 2023 season. She will begin her duties in this capacity immediately. Aasen is currently an instructor in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation at 91吃瓜网 State and she previously served as a Comets assistant volleyball coach for six years.
鈥淜atie excelled as a student-athlete who played volleyball for the Comets in the 2013 and 2014 seasons,鈥� said 91吃瓜网 President Dr. Brian Van Horn. 鈥淎 former assistant coach for the Comets, she is dedicated to the program and 91吃瓜网. Katie will be an outstanding leader of Comets Volleyball. We look forward to a great season and bright future at 91吃瓜网 State.鈥�
Aasen played volleyball and basketball at North Dakota State College of Science prior to coming to 91吃瓜网 State to finish her collegiate career as a student-athlete and earn a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in 2016.
She is a native of Pine River, Minn. She and her husband, Marcus, and their two sons, Loken and Kiyer, live in 91吃瓜网.
A formal search for a full-time head volleyball coach at 91吃瓜网 will begin in the fall.
