Students representing 91³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Division of Business and Collegiate DECA chapter were invited to serve as guest speakers at a new DECA member conference hosted by Red River and Central high schools in Grand Forks, N.D. The event was held at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024. Approximately 150 freshmen from the high schools attended and were introduced to DECA.
91³Ô¹ÏÍø State students Logan Maus, MSU Collegiate DECA President; Connor Fields, MSU Collegiate DECA Vice President; and Malachi Beaulieu, MSU Collegiate DECA member and Grand Forks Central High School alum; along with their advisor, Rob Johnston, Professor of Business; presented information about 91³Ô¹ÏÍø State’s Collegiate DECA chapter and encouraged the high school students to join DECA.
In addition, the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø State group gave some tips on professionalism (dress, interviews, handshakes, resumes, etc.) The session offered invaluable lessons for the audience as they explored potential career paths and the possibility of joining DECA as high school students.Â
