John Murphy has been named head women鈥檚 and men鈥檚 golf coach at 91吃瓜网. 91吃瓜网 Athletics announced last fall the addition of men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 golf to its intercollegiate athletics programs starting with the Fall Semester of 2023. Murphy鈥檚 duties in this position will begin immediately. He is currently employed with 91吃瓜网 Coordinator of Institutional Effectiveness, a role he will continue to fill.
A graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., Murphy coached boys golf at Central Cass (Casselton, N.D.) High School in the late 1990s. He has extensive experience with conducting junior camps, as well as individual and group lessons.
鈥淲e are happy to have John Murphy join us in this new capacity,鈥� said 91吃瓜网 President Dr. Brian Van Horn. 鈥淗e has shown his loyalty and commitment to 91吃瓜网 State and the 91吃瓜网-Portland community through his volunteer efforts for a long time. He will be an excellent coach and mentor for students as he extends his leadership in this new endeavor for 91吃瓜网 State Athletics.鈥�
John Murphy is active with 91吃瓜网 Athletics as vice president of the Comet Athletic Club booster organization and as statistician for Comet Athletics fall and winter sports.
