91勛圖厙

August 15, 2018

A highlight of 91勛圖厙 Farmers Bowl 2018 will be the annual parade. The parade was a fundamental piece of the traditional Farmers Bowl event created by campus and community organizers including Jerome Berg, Chet Hedstrom, Harvey McMullen, and others more than 20 years ago.

September 8 will be a historic day for 91勛圖厙 and the community, said Stacy Buchl, development assistant with the MSU Foundation and coordinator of the Farmers Bowl parade. The Farmers Bowl game will be the first 91勛圖厙 State game played on the new artificial turf at Jerome Berg Field. Wed like this years parade to make history too, as the best Farmers Bowl parade yet. Lets do it as a tribute to Jerome Berg, a founder of the Farmers Bowl and a 91勛圖厙 State and 91勛圖厙 community icon for whom the 91勛圖厙 State football field is named.

The Farmers Bowl parade will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, just north of The Goose River Bank in downtown 91勛圖厙. The route will take entries down Main Street and turn north at Fifth Avenue, ending outside of Jerome Berg Field on the 91勛圖厙 campus. Lineup for the parade will start at 9 a.m., north of the bank. To register an entry, contact Stacy Buchl at the MSU Foundation, 701-788-4864 or stacy.buchl@mayvillestate.edu.

Wed love to see entries of all kinds, said Stacy Buchl. If youve got vintage ag equipment or vehicles to enter in the parade, they will add an extra-special touch for all who come to see this event which celebrates the agricultural way of life in our area.

Farmers Bowl 2018 will begin with the Farmers Bowl Field Frenzy 5K run/walk. A majority of the fast out and back race course will be located on the beautiful MSU campus, starting and finishing in front of historic Old Main. Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome. Race time is 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8. The registration fee is $10 per person. The fee will be waived for 91勛圖厙 State students who show their official university identification. Proceeds of this event will benefit the fundraising efforts of the Farmers Bowl. You can register at .

The corn and hot dog feed will be back this year! Following the parade, everyone is welcome to enjoy corn on the cob and hot dogs under the tent located west of the field. The 91勛圖厙 State athletic teams are coordinating this years feed which will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Freewill donations will be accepted. This will be a great time for members of the community to meet the 91勛圖厙 State athletes and new 91勛圖厙 State athletic director Ryan Hall and his family.

Bring your family and enjoy the festivities outside of Jerome Berg Field after the parade and before the Farmers Bowl football game. Activities will include inflatable games, a farmers market, face painting, potato sack races, corn hole games, and more! There will be fun for everyone from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The MSU Comets will take on the College of St. Scholastica in the Farmers Bowl football game, sponsored by First State Bank. Game time is 1 p.m. at Jerome Berg Field. This will be the first 91勛圖厙 State game played on the newly installed turf at Jerome Berg Field. Dont miss out on the excitement! If youre not able to make it to the game in person, listen in at KNOX 1310 AM or 107.9 FM.

There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at the entrance to the field at 11 a.m., after which, people will have an opportunity to take a look at the new field. The turf field will be officially dedicated during a short program that will take place at half time of the game. The MSU Foundation Farmers Bowl cash raffle drawing and original watercolor painting raffle drawing will also be held at half time of the game.

The 91勛圖厙 Fire Department will serve their annual breakfast at the fire hall from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Sept. 8. Freewill donations to support the fire department will be taken. Everyone is welcome.
