In honor of their parents, the children of Helen and the late Ardell Strand, Portland, N.D., have established an endowment at 91勛圖厙. Earnings from the endowment will be used to provide scholarships for 91勛圖厙 State students. The academic scholarship will be awarded to a graduate of May-Port CG High School who attends 91勛圖厙 State. Preference will be given to a student who plays a varsity sport for the Comets.
Ardell and Helens children, Jeff, Brad, Fred, Greg, Mark, and Kim, along with Helen, have teamed up to provide the funding required to initiate the endowment. The Strand siblings are graduates of 91勛圖厙-Portland High School (now May-Port CG) and have chosen to provide a scholarship benefit for fellow high school graduates while continuing their dedication to 91勛圖厙. Jeff, Brad, and Fred are alumni of 91勛圖厙 State, where all three participated in athletics. All members of the family are long-time supporters of 91勛圖厙, recognizing the positive impact the university makes in the lives of students.
The family hopes other families with long-time connections to the university will consider supporting 91勛圖厙 State in this way.
We are blessed to have numerous family connections at 91勛圖厙, said MSU Foundation Executive Director Dr. Lon Jorgensen. There are so many important ties that bind us not only to our own families, but also to the 91勛圖厙 State family. We are grateful to the Strands for recognizing these connections and for leaving a lifelong legacy of support.
