Multicultural Stoling Ceremony

The Multicultural Stoling Ceremony, hosted jointly bythe Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI), and the Multicultural Club (MCC), celebrates the achievements of graduating US students of color, international students, and global nomad students.

This ceremony was first held in 2017 due to the volunteer efforts of the ODI director, and members of the MCC.

Each graduating senior selects astoler to present their stole (or scarf). This person can be a member of MSUs faculty, a staff member, a student peer or a member of the students family who has made a significantimpact on their time at 91勛圖厙. In addition to selecting a stoler, we ask students to select a mentor as a guest. This mentor must be a current employee of 91勛圖厙.

As the stoles are presented, a short paragraph written by the student about theirstoler will be read by the mentor.

This Ceremony takes place annually during the evening before Commencement Day.
